Clair De'Lain is a female warrior who, along with her group of youthful friends, attempted to tackle Durlag's Tower, citing the adventure of testing themselves against the obstacles of the Tower as their reason. She and her group got through all of the labyrinth levels beneath the Tower, but ran into trouble when they came upon a Demon Knight on the very last level. Though she survived, having stopped to rest for a moment after a blow to the head from some unmentioned previous encounter while her group attempted to take on the creature, she believes that the rest of her friends are now dead from the ensuing battle.
After answering the Stone Golem's three questions, the ghost of Durlag Trollkiller will take you to a sealed off room that leads to the Demon Knight. In that room Clair will hail you and tell you what happened to her and her group, what lies ahead, and discuss a possible weakness of the demon.
