Plot Warning: Using the exit (177, 653) moves the plot forward to chapter 6.

This area is also known as Elven Temple Ruins, there’s a skirmish going on here, and it’s only a few steps away from the surface.

This area has traditionally been patrolled and monitored by Adalon to ensure that hostilities between the drow and surface elves doesn't get out of control. With Irenicus schemes in play, that balance has been lost for the moment.

Description[]

The area is part natural cavern, and an underground series of connected rooms that are part of a dilapidated and damaged elven temple.

On the map[]

Gameplay[]

The party will enter a natural cavern from the Western Tunnels. As soon as the party transitions here a hidden map sector triggers a spell effect that removes the drow illusion that is upon the party from Adalon. If the party never had it (unlikely but possible) then it won't affect anything noticeable to the player.

The party observes a scattered group of drow , as well as a Giant Spider and two Huge Spider arachnids. There are five drow here, all armed. Four are male and female fighters and there is one male wizard.

Everything in this cavern will be hostile immediately. Fight your way through to an opening on the North wall and continue on to the elven temple ruins.

The next room has two closed doors, one to the north and one to the west. Inside is a female drow warrior and three War Elves. Upon entry a text will display:

"The dark enemy is there! Attack, that the forests will never again feel the taint of their step! For Suldanessellar!"

The party can help fight the drow or just press on.

The room to north has more action going on, with a three-on-three battle between drow and elven warriors. There are two "containers" on the floor rubble/a fallen warrior's corpse that can be examined for found items.

Opening the doorway to the west has yet another melee happening. This time 5 drow are up against 6 elves. On the floor within is another fallen corpse that can be examined.

A closed door to the west is available leading to a small room with rubble and debris and another door leading to the exit to the surface on the north wall. Several elves have already told the party to make for the surface and to see someone called Elhan.

Once the drow are dead, which can be hastened with help from the party, all the surviving elves will leave the temple ruins.

The party can transition to the surface when they are ready. Note that it won't make much sense to take any drow equipment with you top side.

Notes[]

The elves in this area are difficult to turn hostile through deliberate/accidental attacks or damaging them with errant AoE damage. However, they will eventually become hostile on an individual basis. Making one, few, or all of the elves hostile will not damage party reputation and has no effect on the how the surface elves in the next area will react.

Mods icon This section is about unofficial content that is only available via fan-made mods.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod will add and revise the scripts of the drow in this area. The drow wizard will let loose some buffs and spells. The warriors will have revised weapon proficiencies commensurate with their XP levels and furnished weaponry.

Additional drow will be placed in this area with the mod, depending on components installed and the game difficulty setting.

The Eilistraee's Song mod will place Solaufein in the final room with the exit to the surface door. The party must initiate dialogue to trigger essential mod scripts and a World Map addition.
