Baldur's Gate Wiki

Illusions in Baldur's Gate can be targeted in four ways. Through the school of magic, the spell type, invisibility, and when they are illusory creatures. Some illusions can be targeted through only one of these characteristics, others through several. The most powerful anti-illusion attacks target all four at once, like True Sight.

It is possible to protect illusions from certain attacks. Spell Immunity:Divination will protect against any anti-illusion attack if it belongs to the Divination school of magic, and Non-Detection and the Whispers of Silence will shield from attacks on invisibility, with the caveat that the anti-illusion attacks can still remove invisibility if it has other attackable characteristics.

To make things easier to picture, all articles on illusions should contain lists displaying which attacks they are vulnerable or immune to, and articles on anti-illusions should contain lists displaying which illusions they can destroy.

Note: Most illusions, like most magic, are also vulnerable to Dispel Magic.
