Captain Haegan is the leader of a slaver outfit that operates out of the Slaver Stockade in the Slums District. He is found in the storage room along with a Priest of Cyric and four Slaver Guards. Killing him and using his key to free the slaves on the boat is part of the requirements in completing the Free Hendak and the slaves side quest.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod revises the captain with an SCS AI fighter script for smarter tactical combat behavior. His weapon proficiencies are flipped from the unmodded and changed to 5 pips in axe and 2 pips with two-handed sword. His primary attack method will be with Throwing Axe, where he will get off 4+ attacks per round. The captain will use his potions of extra healing if damaged over 50%.
