The Captain is a Githyanki (Race) pseudo-mage/warrior encountered in Baldur's Gate II Chapter 6 in one of Athkatla's districts if the party is in possession of the Silver Blade.
The captain will teleport in (as well as other githyanki) at the behest of the Kruin, if the party refuses to return the blade to him.
Gameplay[]
This captain is a two-handed sword and plate mail clad creature that engages in melee combat with the closest enemy it can detect.
When the creature first arrives, it launches the preparatory buff chain shown on the InfoBox, but that's all the spells it can do, and for some reason, this githyanki has no Psionic Ability.
Even with the Haste spell applied, the captain's attacks per round will only be 2.
This captain is lacking in martial sword prowess and won't be able to really threaten a chapter 6 party member, most likely.
The captain is scripted to try and quaff its potion for healing purposes when heavily wounded.

The Sword Coast Stratagems makes some revisions to the captain.
The captain is redesigned as a level 10/10 Fighter / Mage, with a new set of AI scripts for smarter tactical behavior and spell/ability use.
The creature is scripted to use its Planar travel and Psionic Mind Blast abilities.
A new spell book of memorized wizard spells is furnished, with scripted use of all the spells based on tactical criteria and enemy protections/vulnerabilities.
The captain's initial preparatory buff chain might include Mirror Image, Haste, Minor Globe of Invulnerability, Shield (spell), Ghost Armor, and Stoneskin.
A Minor Sequencer is readied for instant release.
Several potions are carried to boost abilities and heal wounds.
The creature's melee combat abilities are slightly better, but not by much, and it is focused on spell casting damage dealing and disabling spells rather than swordplay.
Note that the mod changes the Plate mail worn by the creature to an undroppable version that allows spell casting of wizard spells.
