Brother Pol is a cleric mage of Helm and a Knight of the Vigil. He's found in a group of knights at the foot of Watcher's Keep. He is one of the six knights seen positioned in front of the grand covered staircase leading to the Keep's roof.

Gameplay[]
When you arrive at Watcher's Keep, Odren the leader of the group will be waiting below the looming structure. The player must initiate dialogue. Once dialogue is underway, at some point he'll ask you to perform a ritual to fortify the seals that hold the Imprisoned One beneath the keep. If the party agrees, the knights will then escort you to the top of the fortress (in a cutscene move).
Brother Pol will have some interjections during the parlay with Odren and the Knights.
Odren explains that:
- In order to enter... as well as leave... you will need the proper holy symbol. Talk to Brother Pol... he is our elder and can give you what you need as well as answer any of your questions.
When ready, speak with Brother Pol and ask questions and explore all the dialogue options available. This gives some background information about the history, purpose and recent troubles encountered in Watcher's Keep.
Brother Pol will eventually say:
- Helm's praises upon you, child, for your aid. As Brother Odren said, there are two things you will need within, and I shall give them to you now. The first is the holy symbol that shall allow you to pass through the seals of the prison. Do not lose it, child. Without it, you cannot enter the keep... or, if you are within, you will be trapped forever. The second is the ritual scroll which will repair Helm's seal upon the keep. It need only be read aloud in the presence of the Imprisoned One... you require no special training to do so.
He continues:
- Reaching the Imprisoned One is the difficulty. Watcher's Keep was built many ages ago to contain great horrors that walked Faerûn, but it was abandoned centuries before Helm restored its purpose. When Helm came to us, he asked half of our order to sacrifice themselves... to become spirits guarding the keep and adding to the ancient seals that were already in existence. The spirits will guard against all who enter... they cannot be reasoned with. Add to this the evil which has been drawn to this place by the infection of the Imprisoned One. All these obstacles must be bypassed. When you finally reach the lowest level, you must open the final seal to gain access to the Imprisoned One himself. I... do not know what state he will be in. Read the ritual quickly before he attacks.
The party will receive the Vigil Stone and the Ritual Scroll. With these items in hand, the Altar level of the Keep can be entered and exited by the rooftop transition point in the special metallic hemisphere when desired.
If the party ends up in combat with the knights, including Brother Pol, he'll have access to only arcane magic, as outlined in the InfoBox's scripted spell use.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod makes some revisions to Brother Pol.
He is provided with a randomly assigned Mage kit (on mod installation) and could be a Conjurer, Enchanter, Invoker or Necromancer. The kit selection will determine the spell book assigned to the mage. Regardless of what kit is assigned, expect a more robust opening chain of buffs to protect the creature.
In addition to a revised spell book of arcane magic, since Brother Pol is Cleric / Mage he also will have a repertoire of divine magic scripted for use.
SCS really piles on the initial protective buffs when there are multiclass spell casters. Brother Pol will have a mixture of arcane and divine magic buffs at the outset of hostilities. He's going to require some work to remove his defenses. A single Breach spell isn't going to do it.
A prepared Minor Sequencer and Spell Sequencer can be instantly deployed as well.
A ready to use potion is scripted for use to heal damage or enhance abilities.
If the Spell Revisions mod is installed, those spells will be the SR versions.
