Blackrazor is an enchanted and magical long sword +3 with some powerful enchantments for its level. It appears in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and its Enhanced Edition, as well as in The Black Pits II: Gladiators of Thay.

Description[]

Blackrazor, Long Sword +3

This sword radiates evil like a sour odor, and the owner never knows if he wields the weapon, or if it wields him. In addition to its combat abilities, Blackrazor slowly regenerates its owner with the drained strength of opponents.

Acquisition[]

Baldur's Gate II and the EE[]

Blackrazor can be acquired in the Test of Greed in The Abyss during Baldur's Gate II Chapter 7 Part 2 from the Greed (Fiend).

However, Gorion's Ward must make a choice about what to do with this sword. Either give the sword to the Enslaved Genie or to keep the sword and then kill the tormented being. Both choices will free the genie. One choice is the "good" path, the other the "evil" one. It's up to the player to decide how they'll respond to the test of greed.

The Black Pits II: Gladiators of Thay[]

As a reward item after defeating the Demons and Devils in Tier 2 - Battle 5.

Gameplay[]

This weapon inflicts 1d8 +3 points of Slashing damage on a hit, has a -3 THAC0 bonus, a speed factor of 2 and a weight of 4 lbs.

A creature hit by it has a 15% chance to have 4 levels drained, healing the wielder for 20 points, hasting him and raising his strength by 3 points for 20 seconds. The strength increase is additive to any existing strength attribute the wielder already has up to the maximum permitted strength score of 25.

The wielder also regenerates 1 hit point every 5 seconds and has immunity to Panic and Charm Creature type Status Effects.

Note[]

When a target creature is killed by the Level drain effect, it also suffers a Disintegrate effect which has a high probability to destroy some or all of the items it is carrying. Disabling "gore" in gameplay settings will alter the death type to a normal killing, rather than disintegrated. This will prevent items from being destroyed (tested in BG2EE v2.6.6).

An undroppable clone of this sword is wielded by the evil version of Gorion's Ward in the 2nd Pocket Plane challenge "possibilities".
