The bartender operates a store function, as well as selling various alcoholic drinks - which can allow the party to hear several rumors and bits of information - some of which may be true, or partially true, or just a load of rubbish.

Gameplay[]

The bartender facilitates perusing the drinks menu, paying for a room, or accessing the store. This store has some high-end enchanted merchandise, but that's how it goes when the player reaches the Throne of Bhaal campaign.

Sometimes when inside the tavern, a near miss can occur from the siege catapults, and the tavern screen shakes - leading to the bartender saying, "Another close one! Any damage this time?".

If caught stealing from his store - there is a script associated with this employee, so expect a bad reaction for detected shop lifting, leading to hostility in the tavern.

The bartender isn't a combatant if things go hostile in the tavern, he's going to run away from enemy creatures. He's a mixologist, not a fighter.
