It is the first layer of the Nine Hells and a point of no return for Gorion's Ward. Atop the Avernus Roof awaits the powerful baatezu Belhifet, who, if playing Core Rules settings or higher, can only be harmed by +3 weapons or better [verification needed], which may require a reload to a previous save if unprepared.
On this map, Devils and warriors of Caelar Argent's Crusade can be found dueling. To the northeast is the Avernus Bridge.
