Angurvadal +4, also known as the Stream of Anguish, is an enchanted and magical cold iron and silver longsword. It is obtainable in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal.

Aquisition[]

The Captain (githyanki WK) wields this blade on the Watcher's Keep Githyanki Encampment area, a submap reachable from the Watcher's Keep Machine of Lum the Mad area.

It can only be obtained if taken by force from the githyanki Captain.

Description[]

Also known as the Stream of Anguish, this is the legendary burning blade of Frithiof.

Gameplay[]

This long sword inflicts 1d8+4 points of Slashing damage and 1 point of Fire damage on any successful hit.

It has a THAC0 bonus of 4, a reach of 1 and a speed factor of 1.

Once per day, the blade provides the wielder with an opportunity to "cast" a spell-like effect on self, which sets the Strength attribute to 22.

This lasts for 1 turn (10-rounds), and it can't be dispelled.

After a standard 8-hour rest period, the blade recharges and the ability can be used again.

This sword can be upgraded by Cespenar the imp for 10,000gp and it requires the Liquid Mercury component.

Gameplay[]

Once upgraded by Cespenar, the blade is improved to Angurvadal +5 and it deals 1d8+5 points of slashing damage plus 1d4+1 points of fire damage and grants a THAC0 bonus of 5.

The speed factor improves from 1 to 0, allowing first strike capability in many melee battles.

Additionally, the wielder is immune to Level drain effects and strength attribute is set to 22.
