Alai is one of seven servants of Sarevok, all of whom are located on the fifth floor of the Iron Throne Headquarters and are under orders from Sarevok to eliminate Gorion's Ward and party permanently. He will most likely be encountered during the quest Investigating the Iron Throne and will fight alongside Zhalimar Cloudwulfe, Aasim, Diyab, Gardush, Naaman, and a doppelganger (in the guise of Emissary Tar).
When Charmed, Alai has nothing to say.

Gameplay[]
Alai and his associate Naaman have the following spells memorized:
- Magic Missile (×2)
- Chromatic Orb (×2)
- Horror
- Melf's Acid Arrow
- Agannazar's Scorcher
- Flame Arrow
- Fireball (×2)
- Confusion
- Shadow Door
Alai will open combat by casting Shadow Door to turn invisible, then will begin casting Confusion at the nearest party member. After this, if he is fairly far from any party members and there is a cleric in the party, he will target them with his Fireball (and may likely hit some of his allies in the process). The set of circumstances where he would cast Fireball is unlikely, but is more likely to happen if his Confusion spell worked and your party members including clerics are wandering aimlessly.
If party members are too close or he's unable to see a cleric to target, he will cast Flame Arrow, Horror, Melf's Acid Arrow, Agannazar's Scorcher, and Magic Missile at the nearest party member, in that order. Finally he will cast Chromatic Orb at the nearest party member who is not already stunned. Failing all of that, he will move to engage in melee combat.
He is immune to spells such as Slow, Hold Person, and Web due to his equipped Ring of Free Action.
