The Adventurer Mart is a store located in Waukeen's Promenade. This indoor market is owned by Ribald Barterman and rents space to two other specialty merchants, who are independently buying and selling their own merchandise. Ribald buys and sells a variety of mundane and powerful gear, equipment, and other items for the adventurer. Also, in Chapter Six, he provides some special wares you can browse through if you pay 50  each time. A notable thing about that shop is that he pays 55% instead of the usual 30%.

The market employs its own full time security guard to deter theft and other disruptive activity. Intuitively, this should imply that just picking up anything found on shelves or containers around the market would be seen as theft, but surprisingly, there are a large quantity of books that you may keep, read, or even sell back to another merchant (including Ribald). This may be included in the game for the player to get some background lore and history of the Faerûn.

The lady in the middle of the store (Deidre) sells some unique items, which make a reference to the computer game Planescape: Torment and a few items of Balduran.

The woman in the market corner (Lady Yuth) near the bookshelves sells scrolls. She has bribed the Cowled Wizards in order to do this and she can tell you how you can gain a license to cast spells in Athkatla. Her store is named Pen and Parchment, and sells mostly arcane spell scrolls, some of which are rare and of high level.

Trivia

• The paintings in the back of the store are screenshots from the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon from the 1980s. On the left is Hank the Ranger and on the right is Bobby the Barbarian. Clicking on the paintings also confirms this as it references the pet unicorn from the show and the first episode's battle against Tiamat.

Install the BG2EE compatible Lucy the Wyvern Mod from Spellhold Studios. This mod adds a twist to the encounter with Lucy, the wyvern in the Adventurer Mart. To access this encounter, simply talk to Lucy with your Player Character.
